The purpose of our intellectual retreat is three-fold: first, to offer a spiritual retreat for women balancing the duties of academic life while they discern or live out their primary call to a marital or religious vocation, replete with access to sacraments and time for contemplative prayer; second, to host rigorous discussions amongst scholars in various fields about the nature of intellectual life and the role of Catholic women in the academy; third, to bring together a group of Catholic women in academia in a time of true leisure (study, prayer, and feasting) that will incline them to offer mutual support to one another in their ongoing professional, personal, and spiritual development.
